Wreaths Across America

This year’s Nation Wide Remembrance Ceremony will take place on December 13, 2014, please contact your local location leader for start times.  The cutoff date for sponsorships is December 1, 2014, please make sure that you get them in before this date.  Last minute sponsorships will be handled on a case by case basis and you will need to contact our bookkeeping department to make arrangements.  If you submit funds that do not arrive until after the cutoff date and you have not made arrangements with bookkeeping to have them counted for this year they will be counted towards 2015’s event.
 
Your registration indicates that you have selected the $5 fundraising option.
 
Wreaths Across America (WAA) pays $5 to the fundraising organization for each wreath sold if the group elects this program.  We strive to make checks available within ten days after we receive your wreath sponsorships.  All checks need to be cashed within 90 days of issuance or they will be considered a donation to Wreaths Across America.
 
New for 2014 – we are using a new group ID system, your group is being assigned a new group ID number.  We appreciate your cooperation and patience as we transition to this new system that will greatly help our booking department.

NOTE 1 - I HAVE ADDED OUR GROUP ID#, LOCATION ID# AND SPONSORED LOCATION NAME TO THE 2014 WAA PDF FORMS ALREADY -  THAT WAY WHEN YOU PRINT THEM OUT YOU WON'T NEED TO PUT OUR BASE INFO ON IT, JUST THE CUSTOMER'S.

  • Both IDs must be on the sponsorship forms before you hand them out to perspective donors.  We cannot put your information on the forms after we have received them.  ANY sponsorship forms that do not have a group ID number and Cemetery ID number will go into the general fund.
  • Please submit a copy of the tally sheet with each fund submission.  This will make processing your funds quicker and easier for our bookkeeping staff.

 
NOTE 2: THIS DEALS WITH CASH DONATIONS. FOR CASH DONATIONS PLEASE GIVE THEM TO RON RILEY AT THE BASE MEETINGS AND HE WILL FILL OUT THE FORMS AND SEND THE $$ TO WAA. 
 
NOTE 3: PEOPLE CAN PAY VIA CREDIT CARD DIRECTLY TO WAA AS WELL. IF THEY FILL IN OUR GROUP ID & LOCATION ID ON THE WAA DONATION PAGE WHEN THEY MAKE THEIR DONATION WE WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY CREDITED SO THERE IS NO NEED TO TRACK THEIR DONATIONS.

  • Wreath Sponsorships are(and have always been) $15 each. DO NOT sell the wreath sponsorship for any more than or any less than this set price.  You may take monetary donations in the amount of anything that a donor wishes to give, but when selling a direct wreath sponsorship you must not alter the set price.  If you are a “3 for 2” group please report your wreath sales to us in the format of single wreath increments of $15 each as our system is set up to detect a groups status by the group ID number and will make the calculations accordingly.
  • You may start fund-raising immediately, and continue fund-raising throughout the year where ever you find an opportunity to set up a booth or hand out sponsorship forms.  Think of creative ways to increase your groups fundraising efforts and boost your wreath sponsorships/donations.
  • Your sponsors can go to the online “general store” to make their donations!  When they make their sponsorship through the online store they will need your group ID and your location ID listed above.
  • Checks for sponsorships/donations should be made payable to Wreaths Across America. (We discourage sending cash through the mail, should you collect cash please turn it into a money order or bank check before sending it in).
  • If you wish to have donors make checks payable to your group and then send one check to Wreaths Across America that is fine, however the funds must match the number of wreath sponsorships you are claiming.   (Please contact the bookkeeping office to find out proper procedure for submitting funds this way).
  • If you have any sponsors wishing to make a "grave specific" request remember it is your responsibility to make sure the wreath gets placed on the grave in question.  We will not keep track of grave specific information at Head Quarters except for requests for specific graves at Arlington.
  • Should you choose to display a flag or flags at any of your fundraising events please do so respectfully and follow proper flag etiquette, a brochure on flag etiquette has been provided with this email.
  • Please remit sponsorships/donations on a bi-weekly basis.  (When the cutoff date gets closer we suggest that you send sponsorships/donations in as frequently as possible.)
  • If you are using the program to earn funds for your group please remit all funds.  Our bookkeeping staff will send out funds earned on a bi-weekly basis.  All funds must be processed through our office.
  • All wreaths are sent to the cemetery that you have chosen to sponsor and not to the group (The only exceptions are the Patriot Pair and Military Tribute Pair.  Patriot Pair and Military Tribute Pair wreaths count as one sponsorship,  if your group is using the fundraising option you will only receive $5 per Patriot Pair or Military Tribute Pair purchase.  One wreath will go to the cemetery you are sponsoring and the second wreath will be shipped to the address provided on the form.)

In 2013 we instituted the use of peer to peer fundraising pages.  We are currently working improving these pages and working out some of the kinks that were discovered in our maiden voyage.  As soon as we have determined the best course of action we will contact all fundraising group POC’s with updated information.
