Get your Belt Buckles!

First the bad news
The manufacturer of the dolphin belt buckles, the buckles I have been talking about for the last 3 meetings, has made some significant changes in their ordering process since my first conversation with them. They have raised the minimum order for the M3 style belt buckles, the chrome rectangular ones I've been taking orders for, from 24 to 100. With only about 12 orders so far I am sorry to say that I have scrapped the M3 belt buckle order list (we will never get to 100 orders).

Now the good news
I talked with to manufacturer and we can get the M6, cast heavyweight buckle, designed to fit on the same web belt, and they can be personalized (each buckle will be different).

The information put on them will be hand-engraved, then painted black on the letters

Buckle specifics:
I  The dimensions are: oval, 1 3/4” by 3”. They operate exactly the same as the M3, with the ratchet and teeth.

II  The outer ring (where the writing is) can be brushed silver or brass/gold. The dolphins can be gold or silver. I can also get one for non-subs you may have served on.

III The background can be blue, red, white, black, or a flag design (I have included some non-sub pics to show the background color). If you want the flag design, the dolphins will be a little smaller as the flag must have a certain amount of it showing to meet Federal guidelines.

IV Text Engraving:
Top Line, 24 digits, including spaces,
Bottom Line, 24 digits, including spaces
Each period is counted as a digit; “U.S.S.” = 6 digits; “USS” = 3 digits.
The more digits, the letters get a little smaller.

Ordering You Buckle(s)
Once you look at the pictures and make your decisions for what you want on your buckle(s) send me the following info in an email on EACH BUCKLE one you want.

1.   Color of Outer ring –silver or brass/gold
2.   Color of background, or the flag background
3.   Color of dolphins, gold or silver
4.   Top Line of text EXACTLY as you want it, letter-for-letter, including spaces
5    Bottom line of text EXACTLY as you want it, letter-for-letter, including spaces

Lines 4 and 5 have to be EXACT, we only get one shot at these to make it right

A couple examples would be:
1.   Silver
2.   Blue
3.   Silver
4.   Andrew Jackson SSBN 619 = a total of 23 letters and spaces)
5.   Jim Early STS1(SS) = a total of 18 letters and spaces
                                    or
1.   Brass
2.   Red
3.   Silver
4.   USS George C Marshall = a total of 21 letters and spaces
5.   SSBN 654 (G) = a total of 12 letters and spaces

If you need a web belt to put it on, tell me about it with this order. I can get white, khaki, or black. I need to know:

1.         Color
2.         Silver tip or Gold tip

Costs and Ordering
The cost for each buckle is $30 and includes the Base markup. Belts are $7 each. Payment is due at pickup, or we might be able to make other arrangements if needed. They can be mailed as well, so don’t let distance stop you.  If you want one, and can get the money within the next couple of months, place the order then put your money together as you can - or, just drink 5 beers a week versus 6 and set the money for the 6th beer back for the buckle.

This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity, as they will make our order for a minimum of 24, SO DON’T wait on this in case they decide to increase the minimum like they did on the M3 buckles!.  Later on if we want to make another order the minimum will also be 24.  So, if you have friends that are veterans, let them know about this opportunity! I can get surface ships and Army, Marine, Air Force buckles as well.

I need to know quantities ASAP (end of April)! How many of you have had this opportunity since you got out of the Sub Force? I’ve looked for 30 years for this without finding one, so I’m getting two.

My phone numbers, if you have questions or want to do this over the phone, call me at 615-512-9023, or my work number, 615-460-6498 (I answer the phone).
